Blosom, a Holstein cow owned by Patricia Meads-Hanson in Orangeville, Illinois, holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest cow ever, standing at an impressive 190 cm (74.8 in) from hoof to withers. This remarkable height was officially recorded on May 24, 2014. Despite her fame, Blosom, the tallest cow in the world, remained unfazed by the attention, content with her routine of oats, chin rubs, and ear scratches.
Blosom was raised by Patty’s family from when she was just eight weeks old. Her extraordinary growth led Patty’s father to suggest verifying her height with Guinness World Records. After confirmation, a Guinness team visited to document Blosom’s record. Sadly, Blosom passed away in May 2015 at the age of 13 due to an irreparable leg injury. She remains a beloved figure, commemorated in the Guinness World Records 2016 Edition.
Upon learning of Blosom’s latest record, her owner Patty reflected:
“The funny thing about Blosom was how unaffected she was by all the attention that seemed to surround her. As long as she had her oats, and daily chin rubs and ear scratches, life was good.”
